Quitting smoking is possible!

You may think that quitting smoking is a total impossibility for you....

I'm going to tell you, that after 30 years of smoking cigarettes, not only is it possible, but I've been cigarette free for days (now over a year!), at the time of this writing!

7 eLiquids from JJVapes and 2 Devices

For those of you who care enough to follow me personally, I thought I'd take a moment (which is all I really have) to catch you up on what's been going on with me and where I've been off to!

Truth be told, I've been very, Very, VERY busy doing the Lord's work!  Busier than I've ever been and I see that it's about to get even BUSIER STILL!!

As far as reviews are concerned, I've been through several items over the past couple of months and want to give you my ABRIDGED reviews below...

Aspire Nautilus BDC- What a monster!  It holds just about 5ml of eLiquid, has the best airflow control I've used to date, it's not the prettiest or most manly device I've used though.  As far as performance goes, I've been using it on and off, and to be honest, I'm still trying to find out WHAT TASTES GOOD IN IT!

This thing mutes the flavor of EVERYTHING!  I tried both the 1.8Ω and the 1.6Ω coils and while the 1.6Ω coils were ok, the 1.8Ω coils performed better.  Overall, it's been a huge disappointment for me.  Especially when the Aspire Vivi that I reviewed a couple of months ago, works really good (albeit with too tight of a draw).  I know a lot of people have complained about glass breakage or ugliness, but neither has been an issue for me.  Truth be told, the machining and the overall design of this thing gets a 10.  It does in fact Vape well, but with poor flavor reproduction, it's a no-go for me.  But as far as me giving it an overall recommendation is concerned, I'd suggest you pass on it for now.  I'm guessing (hoping) that Aspire is working out the kinks with their atomizers, in order to get these things to taste better.

Kanger Airflow Control Valve - This is something that has probably flown under your radar, but boy oh boy am I glad that I caught wind of this little beauty!

This airflow control valve is listed as being compatible with the ProTank 2, 3 & Aerotank, but I can personally confirm that it also works with the original ProTank as well!  Since getting this little airflow control valve, my ProTank 1 has come out of mothballs and it's taken center stage.  In addition to having more granular control over your airflow, I also discovered something even more exciting!  Using this instead of the standard base not only lets you screw your atomizer down all the way onto any Mod, but it also prevents the Protank from leaking onto your 510 pin!  Not so much as a drop leaks from this thing!  If you're still using one of the mentioned devices, you NEED one of these...

JJVapes Assorted eLiquids - So back in March I reviewed the Monkey Fart eLiquid from JJVapes and I loved it!  What I didn't tell you, was that to date, the only device it actually tastes good in, is the ProTank!  So there's that.  But I've also ordered a few more eLiquids from them and here's what we've got...

I will be testing these using my Sigelei LEGEND, so that I can control the Wattage.
I will be testing these in my Kanger ProTank.
I will be using a 2.5Ω ProTank atomizer head.

Here are my rating criteria for judging eLiquids:
  • Taste - Does it taste like what it says it's supposed to taste like?
  • Lingering Flavor - Does the flavor have PRESENCE & does it last?
  • Vapor Production - Does it make lots of Vapor?
  • Throat Hit - Is the throat hit too weak, too strong, or just right?
  • Exhaled Aroma - Does the exhale SMELL the same as the inhale TASTES?
Testing Notes: One of the things I see all too often, is that "Flavor is subjective".  NO, your individual tastes may be subjective, but flavor is flavor.  I've never had a steak that tasted like chicken.  I've never had an orange that tasted like a banana.  I've never had a cup of coffee that tasted like Hawaiian Punch.  If you ever see me give an eLiquid a bad review, it's because they TASTE BAD and not because I don't like a particular flavor.  I don't care for the flavor of peaches and mangoes, so you won't see me review anything that contains those. Understand? For more information on this topic please read THIS Blog post...

All eLiquids tested were ordered as 50/50 PG-VG and 6mg nicotine.

Amerrca - Yes, I spelled it correctly...  This is supposed to be "A fantastic mixture including Blueberry, Strawberry & STARfruit!"  But what you're going to get is nothing close to that.  While it does taste "Fruit-ish", I can't tell you what kind of fruit it is.  Worse than that, after about 5-6 Vapes, it'll turn ALL of the eLiquid in your tank BROWN.  Uggh, yuck!  I actually tried this one twice and in two different devices; once in the Aspire Vivi and once in the Protank.  It turned brown in both devices!  Avoid this one.

Blueberry - So having gotten an awful amalgam with the Amerrca, I decided to give the plain old blueberry a whirl.  While it's not the best blueberry eLiquid I've ever had, it's not horrible.  I felt it was a little VG heavy though (I always order 50/50 when I can).  So, this one's not bad, try a small bottle and see what you think...

Strawberry Cheesecake - Honestly, I've been wanting to try a cheesecake flavored eLiquid, but I just never got around to it.  I got this one, just to round out an order and I wish I hadn't.  It doesn't even remotely taste like cheesecake or strawberries.  I loaded this thing up in 4 different devices and there was no improvement...  As a testament to how bad this one was, my daughter asked me to leave the room while I was testing this one out.  She said it smelled foul.  I don't recommend this one.

Piña Colada - I've put off ordering anything with Pineapple in it, because everybody tells me that "anything with Pineapple will crack your tanks".  So I gave in, committed myself to using a glass tank and I'll tell you what....  It wasn't half bad.  Before I ordered it, I emailed JJVapes and asked them what the flavor profile was...  I got 2 replies, 2 hours apart.  The first one told me that it was pineapple and coconut.  The second reply told me that it was pineapple, coconut and RUM.  :/  Thankfully, the first response was correct...  JJ, get your folks on the same page!  :)  Personally, I would have liked this one better, had it been a touch sweeter, but I'd suggest trying a small bottle and let's see what you think...

Blu Ice - So having had a reasonably good experience with the blueberry, I decided to give the blueberry ice variant a whirl.  As expected, it tastes just like the blueberry, with the addition of some menthol.  As far as mintyness is concerned, it could have used about 100% more, in order to be a "proper ice"  Correction: After steeping, it's full-on and in your face ICE!  Whew that's chilly!  This is the first time I've ever had an ICE "develop"....  Again, I'd suggest trying a small bottle to see what you think.

Blu Raz - So I figured that the blueberry was so/so and decided to give the Blu Raz a try.  This one is infinitely better than the blueberry.  Again, I could have used a little more sweetness, but it was good.  Like blueberry and raspberry?  Good, get some...

Blu Raz Ice - Again, since the regular was good, I thought I'd try the ice variant.  It's just as good as the plain Blu Raz, but just like the Blu Ice, it needs MORE menthol to be a "real ice".  And once again Correction: It just needed a little steeping to bring out the ICE...   I'd recommend you try a small bottle, just to see what you think...

So that's all I've got right now.  I do however have an AeroTank Mega on the way (I am soooo hoping this thing works better than the Nautilus).  Aside from that, and as always, thank you so very, very, very much for your continued support, thank you for your comments and thank you for Liking it, Tweeting it, Sharing it, +1ing it and telling your dog about it, etc...  ;)

And don't forget, if you Follow this Blog (over in the right pane), you can be alerted every time I post a new review!

  1. Thanks for the review... I've been thinking of trying the Nautilus, but since switching to kayfuns... I just can't get satisfaction from the pre-built stuff.

I still use an Aerotank as backup sometimes... But it's no longer my daily driver ;)

My current favorite eliquid is the Plume Room's Banana Pudding.... I just can't get enough of the stuff.... They/she? has a deal of the week... One flavor is $10 for 30 ml... So I've been trying those.

  2. PK. I'm using a 1100 (1200?) mAH battery from Vaporshark. Aspire BVC replacement coils come in 1.6, 1.8 and 2.1 ohm. How do I know which one to choose?
    Thanks Anna

    1. Annamaria,

First of all, please forgive me for the extremely late response. Hopefully you've already found your answer.

Since it's a great question, I'll answer it anyway!

I went through the same thing when I first started Vaping. I bought all of the available coils for whatever device I was working with, played with them at every voltage level I could choose, and in the end, settled on the one I liked the best, at the voltage I liked the best.

To be honest, at a $1 or so for an atomizer, it's worth it to buy one of each and replicate the same test that I did. In your case, with a fixed voltage battery, it's even easier. Whichever one provides you with the best flavor without burning, the best Vapor without burning and the best temperature without burning, is the one that you should choose.

Thank you for the question, again sorry for the late reply, and I hope the answer finds you Vaping happily! :)
