RuiGu RG400 Review

So today's review is for the RuiGu RG400 (I believe that's pronounced ROO-EE-GOO).

The RG400 is at its core, simply a Protank 2 type of device.  I purchased it because I was looking for a "better" KamryTech X10.  Don't get me wrong though, it's not that there's something "wrong" with the X10, but I wish that the styling of the X10 was slightly smoother or more rounded.

Devices that use the ProTank Atomizer Heads

So as I eluded to in a previous Blog entry, there are now EASILY more than 10 devices available for sale that use the Kanger designed ProTank Atomizer heads.

Since the traffic to this Blog shows an increasing interest in ProTank related devices I decided to put together a nice and easy chart so that you can easily see the differences between the devices.

VAMO 3 - Stainless Steel Review

Having been a long-time VAMO 2 fan, when I broke mine I was really bummed.  So what I'm going to do with this review is not just review the VAMO 3, but I'm also going to do a small comparison between the VAMO 3 and the VAMO 2.  Not quite a VAMO 3 vs VAMO 2 though.

Before I begin, I should point out WHAT this is (for those of you who don't know).  Once you finally realize that you're not getting ENOUGH power from your dinky eGo-C battery, you'll eventually be greeted by about a dozen different common options.  The APV (Advanced Personal Vaporizer) is basically what you're going to want.  The VAMO series of APV's happen to be among the best of them.  The VAMO supports both Variable Voltage (VV) and Variable Wattage (VW), so you can basically set your device at whatever power level that YOU decide is best.  Unlike an eGo-C battery which is always 3.7V or an eGo-Twist which has hard limits, the VAMO 3 can be set anywhere from 3-6V and from 3-15W.  It also supports at least 3 different battery configurations: 1-18350, 1-18650 or 2-18350's.  With built-in Power and Reverse Polarity protection, it's worth its weight in Gold if you're concerned about safety!  Trust me, if you get one, you're going to love it!

Kanger ProTank Review - 2nd Followup

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

Both of my blog entries regarding the ProTank are in the Top 5 of the all time page hits on this site.  I promised (somewhere) that I'd do a second followup and this is it!

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Kanger really knocked one out of the park, not so much with the ProTank itself, but with the design of their BC Atomizer (bottom coil).

To date, I can find at least 9 10 lots of devices, some made by Kanger and some not, that are designed around using the ProTank atomizers...

Kanger EVOD Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

If you've been reading this Blog, you know that I'm in love with the Kanger ProTank.  Sure, it's got some really tiny issues, but they're nothing, compared to some other devices.

For the first time since I started Vaping, I've finally got something that produces excellent flavor, excellent Vapor, excellent throat hit and lasts a really, really long time between changing out atomizer heads.

But the ProTank can cost between $15 & $23 depending on where you get them from.

The reason that I wanted to test the EVOD out, is because:

Upcoming Reviews for July 2013

Far be it from me than to let anyone down, but I've been running into all sorts of issues/problems with 2 of the things that were at the top of my list for June...

I've been writing my reviews, but due to some issues, I've got nothing else this month.

The review for the SmokTech Octopus 2.0 is now officially on hold.  I've watched just about every video on YouTube regarding drippers, I've listened to everything everyone has ever said about drippers and I've used whatever personal knowledge that I have about drippers and there's a problem.  My experiences are NOT matching what I'm expecting.  I believe that this is the very nature of Science.  You can't learn anything from an experiment that goes well, you can only learn from your failures.  Suffice it to say, that I'm learning more than I anticipated.  So until I get to the bottom of some serious issues, this review is on hold.

Update 7/19/2013: Correction... This review is now UP, check it out HERE!

1. The review for the Sigelei Mechanical Mod #19 has taken as long as it's taken, because there are some design flaws with this mod.  I have overcome BOTH OF THEM, but it took a while because I was waiting for parts to come in from China AND I had to test them thoroughly.  You won't see any sanded down, chopped up, soldered or replaced screws, springs, nuts or bolts in my fix.  But still, I'm only now ready to write my review.  I should have it online early July.

Update 8/2013: The Sigelei #19 review is UP, check it out HERE!

2. The eLiquid from Uno Vapor has remained one of my stable, go to eLiquids for months.  This review is next up on my list.  It shouldn't take me too long, as I've been using it for so long.

Update 6/29/2013: The Uno Vapor review is UP, check it out HERE!

3. The 36 eLiquids from NicoPure Labs is also back on hold, until I get a properly functioning /properly performing dripper that doesn't cost $100.  If you're a "Dripper Guru", someone who knows how to get a dripper to really perform, I want to hear from you.  Please use the comment form at the right to contact me.  Apparently I don't know enough to do this by myself.  I say "apparently", because I've used every ounce of logic I possess and I still don't come up with anything even close to what I see some people doing in videos.  Either they're doing something they're not revealing (like vaping at .2ohms and using 8.4V, thereby destroying the flavor of their eLiquid) or I'm just not picking up on something that I should be able to.  If you think you can help me, please contact me.

Update 7/19/2013: Correction... This review is UP, check it out HERE!

4. Based on the hits to this Blog and the emails I've been receiving from my contact form, I'm considering doing a SECOND followup for the Kanger ProTank.  Apparently there's more that people want to know and there are more discoveries that I've made that I should share.  So look for that as part of the July 2013 offering.

5. On the heels of the ProTank, I've got a Kanger EVOD on its way.  Based on all of the reviews I've read and based on the design of the device, I can't help but wonder if the EVOD isn't just a less expensive alternative to the ProTank, with the same flavor/Vapor & performance!  If I'm right, move over Stardust, because the EVOD is THE CE4+ killer!  Again, look for this in July.

Update 7/18/2013: The Kanger EVOD review is UP, check it out HERE!

6. Something I should have reviewed ages ago, is the Stardust.  I'll be reviewing a CE4 & a CE5.  To be honest, I'm not particularly thrilled about it as I hate wasting money.  But what's a couple of dollars if it helps you to get away from the nasties, right?  ;)

7. If you have not yet done so, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!  And then after you've voted, please share it with every Vaper you can find.  I'd love to get a sample of at least 1,000 votes in the next 30 days.  Won't you help me?  :)

Kanger T2 Review

UPDATED 5/22/2013 - If you're seriously interested in the Kanger T2, I'd suggest that you save your money and check out the ProTank instead!  Don't miss my review of the Kanger ProTank!

Remember, these reviews are for the sole purpose of helping you to find a QUALITY VAPING EXPERIENCE.  They're not here to further my blog and they're not here to denigrate or put down anyone.  If you like something that I say is "junk", that's great.  Use it and enjoy it.  But for those of you, who like me have an extremely sensitive sense of taste and smell, allow me to help you in your quest...

The Kanger T2 looks just like all the rest of the standard CE4, Vision or other Stardust type of Clearomizers.

On a direct suggestion from Eric from www.DiscountVapers.com, I ordered a couple of Kanger T2's from his webstore.  Really quick and off-topic, Eric is awesome!  I contacted him and asked him for his opinions on several aspects of the different devices he sells and his answers were among the best and most complete answers I've received from anyone.  If you get the chance to communicate with him, tell him I said hi!  One quick note though, Eric never promised me the "perfect vape", but he suggested that I try it anyway, as many people have had good experiences with it.

Ok, so here's the scoop with this clearomizer.

The first 10 vapes, the eJuice tasted awful.  I was ready to toss it.

The next 20 vapes, the eJuice tasted like it was right out of the bottle, nice!

The next 24 hours, the eJuice lost it's flavor entirely, I felt like I was Vaping nothing.

The next 24 hours after that, I was sucking eJuice, like it was through a straw.  2 dis-assemblies and a quick run through with my air compressor, I managed to get the eJuice out (no I did not overfill the tank).

I managed to get another day out of it before it started to turn my PG eJuice a dark brown color and tasting burnt (I was using a standard light-colored eJuice. It started out the color of cream soda and wound up the color of Guinness!).

Would I suggest this to someone who wants a hassle-free Vaping experience?  No....

Remember, we're trying to replace cigarettes....
You don't light a cigarette and deal with awful taste, good taste, no flavor, etc...
You light it and unless you "hot-box" your smoke, it tastes the same from start to finish...

So while the Kanger T2 is a "well-constructed" clearomizer, I won't recommend it...

I hate the idea of disposables, so if you don't mind spending about a dollar more, you would do much better with an EVOD or for few dollars more, a Kanger ProTank.

Standard Ego-C Atomizer/Tank Review

The "eGo thread" is currently the most versatile connector type in the eCig world, having both a 510 connector and the eGo threads.  From a "standards" point of view, the standard eGo battery offers the most battery life of all basic batteries.

However, that's where the usefulness of the "stock eGo" setup ends.

If you have an opportunity to purchase a "standard eGo" setup, don't... Get the upgrade!

The stock eGo-C setup comes with these tiny atomizers and uses a plastic tank to hold your eJuice.  Most printed literature will tell you that this setup should provide you with a weeks worth of Vaping, however real-life usage is more like 3-4 hours, perhaps a day if you're really lucky.

The stock eGo-C atomizer is so poorly constructed, that your eJuice will be burning in no time.  The problem is not so much with the atomizer, as it is with the incredibly tiny wick.  Once that wick burns, not only do you have to spend $3-$5 for another, but you've burned your eJuice and you either have to clean out your tank and start over, or replace it (for $3-$5) too!

While I can see some people thinking that this is a review to avoid the eGo-C, it's not.  It's a plea to not invest or waste your time and money on the stock config.  You'll have a much better experience if you go another direction.  As of this writing, a Kanger EVOD or a Kanger ProTank may be your best bet for reliability and flavor reproduction...

It's my hope that you can get away from cigarettes, so anything I can do to help steer you in a "better" direction is fine by me...
