Grand Vapor - Private V2 (Tri-Tone) Clone - Review

So today I'll be doing a short and sweet review of a mechanical battery mod that was made in China, but is a clone of something that's made in the Philippines!  The Grand Vapor Private V2 (Tri-Tone) clone.

Devices that use the ProTank Atomizer Heads

So as I eluded to in a previous Blog entry, there are now EASILY more than 10 devices available for sale that use the Kanger designed ProTank Atomizer heads.

Since the traffic to this Blog shows an increasing interest in ProTank related devices I decided to put together a nice and easy chart so that you can easily see the differences between the devices.

Kanger UniTank (Non-Review)

So today I'm not going to be reviewing the new Kanger UniTank...

Kanger UniTank

Confused?
Good...  ;)

Upcoming Reviews for November 2013

So right now I'm waiting on something that (according to many people) is supposed to "rock my world".

As most of you who've been following me for any amount of time knows, I depend on the Kanger designed ProTank Atomizer Heads to Vaporize my eLiquids.  However, there are some cases where the ProTank heads just can't reproduce flavor the way they're supposed to (Boba's Bounty anyone).

1. I'll be reviewing a SvoёMesto Kayfun v3.1 ES (clone) as soon as I receive it.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Kayfun/Taifun/Russian/etc types of devices, they're a ReBuildable Atomizer that functions on the same premise as a ProTank, except with the ability to atomize more eLiquid (due to greater surface area), provide greater airflow (thanks to an adjustable valve) and therefore provide ProTank type performance, but stepped up to the next level.

Well, at least that's what's supposed to happen in theory anyway...  ;)

Won't you join me for this review?
Keep your eyes peeled mid-November for this one...

2. Also and of very high interest to me....  I purchased a moderate quantity of both 1/4" Silica Rope and 1/4" Cotton Rope to test with the Kayfun.  Why?  Yeah... About that...  I've got this crazy idea, that instead of bundling, wrapping or creating fancy shapes with your wick, that you can just have a nice single strand do all the work for you.  Am I right?  I don't know.  Since I've never seen anyone use anything this large before (not that 1/4" is exactly large), I'm hoping that one of my crazy ideas will pay off.  Just keep in mind, you'll need either a Kayfun or a Dripper to take advantage of this particular size wick, so...  Anyway, we'll see what happens...  Right now I plan on including this as part of the Kayfun review.

Update 11/5/2013: So I finally got a replacement battery for my digital micrometer and the first thing I did was measure this new wick!  Seems like wick isn't measured to the same level of specificity that things made of metal are.  Well, then again, I can't tell you how many wobbly 510 drip-tip sockets I have, so maybe that isn't even so...  Anyway, these 2 different wicks that I have are 9/64", not 1/4".  That works out to be 3.77mm.  Regardless, I'm still really excited to see how well this stuff works!  Hmmm...  Now that I'm thinking about it, perhaps they're 1/4" once they've absorbed eLiquid?  --runs off to test!

3. As I told you in my Blog Reboot post, I cancelled some reviews last month.  There's one thing that I think deserves to be reviewed and that's the Private V2 - Tritone Clone.  It's an exact replica of the real thing (minus the center-pin).  I've been using it for the past month and I'd like to do a short review for those of you who are looking for a stylish and properly performing mod (that also happens to cost under $25!!!).  Hey, for those of you in the UK, that's about £16!!!  Anyway, keep your eyes peeled!

Update 11/5/2013: This review is up!  Read it HERE...

And if you want to be updated the moment these get posted, use the Follow option in the right-hand pane.  Don't worry, Google does NOT share your email addresses with me.

ProTank Head Longevity Study

So a couple of months ago, it occurred to me that I should really try and figure out how long these heads REALLY last.  But as I tested them, I discovered something that really surprised me...

Review: Vitamin A eLiquid from Hangsen

So today's review is about something that there's next to NOTHING available to read about on the Internet.

If you want to read about Justin Beiber, Google has "About 614,000,000 results".

If you want to read about Jessica Beil, Google has "About 57,500,000".

If you want to read about Hangsen's mysterious Vitamin A eLiquid.....

Well, Google will provide you with exactly "7 results".  Go ahead - try it: CLICK

(And 4 of them take you to this website! - LOL)

Review: 6 Tobacco eLiquids from Hangsen

So I was 75% done with this review and don't ask me what happened, but while this blog entry was saved as a draft, somehow it got erased.  I've contacted Google, but I'm not expecting them to dig it out of their server
(perhaps WordPress is in my future).  Anyway, I had written a whole bunch of interesting stuff, but being a bit downtrodden, I'm just going to have to make the best of it.  Since I already covered a lot of background information on Hangsen in my first review of their eLiquids, you should check out that review too...

Sigelei #19 Mechanical Mod Review

This review has been on the back-burner now for months!  As a matter of fact, I announced that I'd be reviewing it "soon" back in June 2013!  Sorry about that...

Shenzhen Sigelei Technology Co, Ltd. is a Chinese manufacturer of many eCig and Vaping related products.  Everything from drip tips to atomizers to APV's and MODs.  Best known for their ZMAX product line, their catalog of Mechanical Mods is not only impressive, but growing!

VAMO 3 - Stainless Steel Review

Having been a long-time VAMO 2 fan, when I broke mine I was really bummed.  So what I'm going to do with this review is not just review the VAMO 3, but I'm also going to do a small comparison between the VAMO 3 and the VAMO 2.  Not quite a VAMO 3 vs VAMO 2 though.

Before I begin, I should point out WHAT this is (for those of you who don't know).  Once you finally realize that you're not getting ENOUGH power from your dinky eGo-C battery, you'll eventually be greeted by about a dozen different common options.  The APV (Advanced Personal Vaporizer) is basically what you're going to want.  The VAMO series of APV's happen to be among the best of them.  The VAMO supports both Variable Voltage (VV) and Variable Wattage (VW), so you can basically set your device at whatever power level that YOU decide is best.  Unlike an eGo-C battery which is always 3.7V or an eGo-Twist which has hard limits, the VAMO 3 can be set anywhere from 3-6V and from 3-15W.  It also supports at least 3 different battery configurations: 1-18350, 1-18650 or 2-18350's.  With built-in Power and Reverse Polarity protection, it's worth its weight in Gold if you're concerned about safety!  Trust me, if you get one, you're going to love it!

Kanger ProTank Review - 2nd Followup

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

Both of my blog entries regarding the ProTank are in the Top 5 of the all time page hits on this site.  I promised (somewhere) that I'd do a second followup and this is it!

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Kanger really knocked one out of the park, not so much with the ProTank itself, but with the design of their BC Atomizer (bottom coil).

To date, I can find at least 9 10 lots of devices, some made by Kanger and some not, that are designed around using the ProTank atomizers...

CE4 & CE5 - Stardust Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

If you started Vaping within the past 2 years, there's a really good chance that you started out with a "Stardust" Atomizer.

I consider this my "most overdue" review, because I left these puppies back in the dust ages ago.  I left them in the dust because I could never get a CONSISTENT Vape out of them and I most certainly was never able to get ENOUGH Vapor out of them either.  However, for millions of people, these either are or were the very first Atomizing device they purchased.

Review: 6 eLiquids from Hangsen

Of all the things that I've been complimented on, my thoroughness and the ability to "tell it like it is" have been the most prominent.  I want you to understand this, before you read this review...

Today, I'll be reviewing 6 eLiquids from Hangsen.  Before I begin (and especially if this is your first time reading my reviews) I want you to understand my rating criteria.  Unlike some "website-magazines" that shall remain nameless, I don't require that vendors send me free stuff, so you can be sure that I'll give it to you straight...

KamryTech X10 Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

Before we begin, I want to make a statement....

I am an American.  As such, I would always give a U.S.A. Made product the first chance.  As the product that I'm reviewing is a direct competitor to a product that is already made in China, I see no issue.  As with most things, "may the best man win".....

So today I'll be reviewing a direct competitor to the Kanger ProTank...
It's called the KamryTech X10...

Some of you might be curious as to why I would want to review this particular item.  The answer is simple.  While the ProTank is currently my favorite device, the thing that makes it my favorite has nothing to do with the design of the ProTank.  It's all about how it performs...  The thing that makes it perform, is not the body of the ProTank... It's the engine!

SmokTech Octopus Review

NOTICE: OBJECTS IN PICTURES ARE SMALLER THAN THEY APPEAR

So this is a review and a documentary.  It's a review, because you're going to learn a lot about the SmokTech Octopus Dripper and it's a documentary, because this is my FIRST RDA and even though I've learned a lot from using Genesis style atomizers, working with a dripper (as I'm told) is a whole new experience.

Kanger EVOD Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

If you've been reading this Blog, you know that I'm in love with the Kanger ProTank.  Sure, it's got some really tiny issues, but they're nothing, compared to some other devices.

For the first time since I started Vaping, I've finally got something that produces excellent flavor, excellent Vapor, excellent throat hit and lasts a really, really long time between changing out atomizer heads.

But the ProTank can cost between $15 & $23 depending on where you get them from.

The reason that I wanted to test the EVOD out, is because:

18650 & 18350 Battery Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

So over the past few months, I've been conducting my own independent tests of a few different batteries for use with my eCigs.  There's a huge disparity of information out on the internet about "what's the best", so instead of concerning myself with "what's the best", I want to answer a different question...

Kanger ProTank Review - Followup

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

So a couple of weeks ago I wrote a glorious review of the Kanger ProTank.
Today I want to do a followup review, now that I've had more time to use it.

Review: 3 eLiquids from Dekang

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

So with a 2 out of 3 score against boutique eLiquid makers, I've decided to "import" 3 fruit flavored eLiquids directly from China.  I figured it would be an excellent test to see if maybe China can do something that we can't...

Kanger ProTank Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

The ProTank followup is now online Here!

So the last time I reviewed a Kanger product, I was pretty much ready to throw it out the window. (don't get excited, it's just a figure of speech)

This time however, I'm ready to put this product into my soon to be created "Hall of Fame"!
