Upcoming Reviews for November 2013

So right now I'm waiting on something that (according to many people) is supposed to "rock my world".

As most of you who've been following me for any amount of time knows, I depend on the Kanger designed ProTank Atomizer Heads to Vaporize my eLiquids.  However, there are some cases where the ProTank heads just can't reproduce flavor the way they're supposed to (Boba's Bounty anyone).

1. I'll be reviewing a SvoёMesto Kayfun v3.1 ES (clone) as soon as I receive it.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Kayfun/Taifun/Russian/etc types of devices, they're a ReBuildable Atomizer that functions on the same premise as a ProTank, except with the ability to atomize more eLiquid (due to greater surface area), provide greater airflow (thanks to an adjustable valve) and therefore provide ProTank type performance, but stepped up to the next level.

Well, at least that's what's supposed to happen in theory anyway...  ;)

Won't you join me for this review?
Keep your eyes peeled mid-November for this one...

2. Also and of very high interest to me....  I purchased a moderate quantity of both 1/4" Silica Rope and 1/4" Cotton Rope to test with the Kayfun.  Why?  Yeah... About that...  I've got this crazy idea, that instead of bundling, wrapping or creating fancy shapes with your wick, that you can just have a nice single strand do all the work for you.  Am I right?  I don't know.  Since I've never seen anyone use anything this large before (not that 1/4" is exactly large), I'm hoping that one of my crazy ideas will pay off.  Just keep in mind, you'll need either a Kayfun or a Dripper to take advantage of this particular size wick, so...  Anyway, we'll see what happens...  Right now I plan on including this as part of the Kayfun review.

Update 11/5/2013: So I finally got a replacement battery for my digital micrometer and the first thing I did was measure this new wick!  Seems like wick isn't measured to the same level of specificity that things made of metal are.  Well, then again, I can't tell you how many wobbly 510 drip-tip sockets I have, so maybe that isn't even so...  Anyway, these 2 different wicks that I have are 9/64", not 1/4".  That works out to be 3.77mm.  Regardless, I'm still really excited to see how well this stuff works!  Hmmm...  Now that I'm thinking about it, perhaps they're 1/4" once they've absorbed eLiquid?  --runs off to test!

3. As I told you in my Blog Reboot post, I cancelled some reviews last month.  There's one thing that I think deserves to be reviewed and that's the Private V2 - Tritone Clone.  It's an exact replica of the real thing (minus the center-pin).  I've been using it for the past month and I'd like to do a short review for those of you who are looking for a stylish and properly performing mod (that also happens to cost under $25!!!).  Hey, for those of you in the UK, that's about £16!!!  Anyway, keep your eyes peeled!

Update 11/5/2013: This review is up!  Read it HERE...

Kanger ProTank Review - 2nd Followup

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

Both of my blog entries regarding the ProTank are in the Top 5 of the all time page hits on this site.  I promised (somewhere) that I'd do a second followup and this is it!

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Kanger really knocked one out of the park, not so much with the ProTank itself, but with the design of their BC Atomizer (bottom coil).

To date, I can find at least 9 10 lots of devices, some made by Kanger and some not, that are designed around using the ProTank atomizers...

SmokTech Octopus Review

NOTICE: OBJECTS IN PICTURES ARE SMALLER THAN THEY APPEAR

So this is a review and a documentary.  It's a review, because you're going to learn a lot about the SmokTech Octopus Dripper and it's a documentary, because this is my FIRST RDA and even though I've learned a lot from using Genesis style atomizers, working with a dripper (as I'm told) is a whole new experience.

18650 & 18350 Battery Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

So over the past few months, I've been conducting my own independent tests of a few different batteries for use with my eCigs.  There's a huge disparity of information out on the internet about "what's the best", so instead of concerning myself with "what's the best", I want to answer a different question...

Upcoming Reviews for June 2013 - Update

A couple of months ago, I mentioned that I was going to be doing an 18650/18350 Battery review.  Truth is, there's just too much misinformation out there regarding batteries.  Time permitting I should be able to get this one up by the end of this weekend.

Batteries being reviewed:

· Samsung ICR18650-26F (unprotected)
· Samsung ICR18650-30B (protected)
· TrustFire 18650 - 3000mAh (protected)
· EFest 18350 - 800mAh V2 (unprotected)

Update 6/8/2013 - The Battery Review is UP

Next, I'm still working on the Sigelei #19 review.  Out of the box, it leaves a little to be desired.  HOWEVER, I have a neat idea that I haven't seen anyone else try yet that MIGHT actually make this an awesome mod.  Keep your eyes peeled!

My 3 new eLiquids from Alien Visions are in the mail and on their way!  Does AVE have what it takes to make everything delicious, or is Boba's Bounty a fluke?

eLiquids being reviewed:

· Dreamberries
· Watermelon Overload
· Grape Vape

Update 6/11/2013 - The Alien Visions Review is UP

I decided that I needed an RDA (a dripping type of rebuildable atomizer) to be able to get all of the nuances of the different flavored eJuices that I'm reviewing.  I've got an SM2.0 (also referred to as an SM20) on its way from China, and I've got to tell you that I'm really looking forward to this build!  Can anything really taste any better than my Kanger Protank?  We'll just have to see!  I can confirm that it's on its way here and hopefully I'll have it in my hands by the end of this coming week!

SmokTech Natural + RSST Kit Review - Followup

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

So I've received a whole bunch of communications from people in different places asking me to do a followup review on the SmokTech RSST leaking issue. (the original review is HERE)

When I first setup the RSST, I had one small "snag"...  The lower isolator (the one in the 510 connetion) would not come out.  When I say "would not come out", I mean to say "I didn't want to force it out".

I've been wondering if maybe it wasn't seated correctly and perhaps that was causing some leaking.  Although in retrospect, any leaking is ORIGINATING from the top, but regardless, I wanted to make sure.

So I took apart the whole unit and very carefully got the isolator removed.  Upon which I discovered something new.  The upper and lower isolators ARE NOT THE SAME, which means that THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.

So I took my time, carefully cleaned and inspected each part and put it back together.

3 hours later, I had my first signs of leakage, so reassembly is not the solution...

Added 5/26/2013: I have pretty much stopped using this RBA.  Its flavor reproduction is a 2 out of 10.  If your taste buds are dead due to so many years of smoking, you probably won't notice.  So if that's the case, and if you can get past the dripping 510 connector, the RSST Vapes really well.

IMPORTANT: If you're thinking about getting an RBA, because you're trying to get a better more consistent Vape, then perhaps you should check out the Kanger ProTank FIRST!  It's half the price of the RSST, Vapes like a dream AND it produces great flavor!

Next, The Natural...

I went ahead and ordered 2 different kinds of protected batteries (which I'll be reviewing soon).

Update 6/8/2013 - The Battery Review is UP!

I now know that protected 18650 batteries WILL NOT WORK IN THIS UNIT.  Why won't they work?  Well, they won't FIT, they're TOO LONG.

As you can see from the image above, you CAN force a protected 18650 battery into the unit, but you're going to have some problems making everything "fit" correctly.  For the purpose of this review, I went ahead and unscrewed each part of the tube a little bit at a time, until I was able to fit everything together.  I'm not happy though.  I don't like how it feels in my hands AND I happen to think it looks stupid.

My recommendation: Don't use protected batteries in this device unless you're willing to purchase the extended tube (which I don't even know for certain will work.  according to the ST website, that tube is to support 18500 batteries, so that might not even be a real option).  If you're worried about using unprotected batteries, then don't get a Natural.

So that's my SmokTech Natural + RSST Kit Review - Wrap-up.
As always, I hope you find my reviews, opinions & advice helpful...

I recognize that everyone's mileage may vary, so whatever you use, as long as it's not a cigarette, it's a great device!

My Discoveries about Vaping so far

My discoveries about Vaping in general are quite interesting...

Here are some of the many things I did to educate myself on eCigs:

1. I spent many, many hours watching videos, tutorials & reviews on YouTube
2. I purchased many "beginner" devices in the hopes of finding something reliable
3. I purchased my first Variable Voltage battery in hopes of improving #2
4. I purchased my first ReBuildable Atomizer in hopes of improving #2 & #3
5. I purchased my first Mechanical Mod in hopes of improving #2, #3 & #4
6. I purchased my second ReBuildable Atomizer in hopes of improving #2, #3, #4 & #5
7. I have purchased numerous eLiquids in the hopes of improving #2, #3, #4, #5 & #6
8. I joined an online forum to LEARN from other people with more experience Vaping

But in the end, both everything and nothing listed above is what has finally provided me with a real, normalized, happy Vaping experience.

I say "everything", because something from each of those steps got me where I am now.
I say "nothing", because I managed to figure out certain things all by myself.

If you're like me and you need lots of information, I highly recommend you read-up on every device, eJuice, battery, technology, everything you can find.  If you just wanna Vape, that's great too.

As long as you can get away from the nasty Analogs, it's a good thing, right?

Zhuhai Youde AGA-T2 Review

UPDATE: Please participate in our anonymous POLL.  It's for a really good cause!

I warned you a few days ago that I'd be doing a review of my first RBA (ReBuildable Atomizer)...  Well, I've been using the AGA-T2 for about 2 weeks now and I'm ready to give it a shot!

Rebuildable Atomizer Reviews Coming Soon!

So I've been studying for the past 2 months about RBA's or Rebuildable Atomizers.

The idea is that instead of having a disposable (or something that lets you just replace the wick/atomizer assembly) that you instead have something that let's you CREATE your own wick and CREATE your own coil, CUSTOMIZED to your own specifications.

Keep an eye out, I'll be reviewing the AGA-T2...

Update 4/11/2013: There are now 2 RBA reviews online for your review:

1. AGA-T2 Review

2. SmokTech The Natural + RSST Kit Review

As this is an aging blog entry, please check the main page for newer, more updated reviews.
